Abstract
Welcome from the Editor I am proud to announce the first issue of Journal of Dental Biomaterials (JDB) an open access peer reviewed journal, now launched online and free to access. The future of science relies on high quality research and JDB will strive to meet this demand by providing a free and open access option for all researchers. JDB welcomes articles from a variety of disciplines that match the aim and scope of the journal and it offers fast-tracked publication. Our goal is to promote global collaboration by encouraging researchers to submit original and innovative joint projects for publication. Although highly sought after research is welcomed, we aim to foster and explore the ideas of young researchers by publishing and highlighting up-and-coming researchers. JDB was founded in Iran to recognise local and international scientists in the field of Dental and Biomaterial Sciences and to share their findings with the wider scientific community. The journal’s ultimate goal is to be indexed online and consequently achieve an international ranking by selectively publishing high quality journal articles. This journal will resist unprofessional behaviour such as plagiarism and unethical studies. At the outset, I appreciate your outstanding contributions towards the scientific community in the field of Dental and Biomaterial Sciences. I strongly believe that potential research contributions will be beneficial to those working in this field and I have confidence that this may improve the quality of our Journal as well as provide young research scholars with the motivation to expand their ideas in emerging fields. I am pleased to inform you that the existing submission site has been updated with our office contact details provided. My special thanks to our selected international editorial board members, reviewers and the authors who have contributed their work to help release articles for the first issue of JDB. With the passage of time and great research contributions I am confident that JDB will improve and one day I hope that it become a leading journal in its field.
